The Audi SQ6 e-tron finally delivers the composed driving dynamics and bespoke cabin execution that enthusiasts have expected from Ingolstadt's electric lineup. It successfully bridges the gap between everyday luxury SUV practicality and genuine sports handling.
Taking the Audi SQ6 e-tron out on the road, my primary focus was seeing whether this new dedicated architecture could resolve the compromises felt in Audi's earlier adapted platforms. From the opening miles, the chassis feels remarkably tied-down. Steering response is sharp and predictable, giving the front end an eager, pointed feel through sweeping bends, while body roll is kept firmly in check without sacrificing high-speed compliance over broken tarmac. Inside, I found a thoroughly redesigned cockpit anchored by the curved panoramic digital layout. Audi's updated interface responds smoothly to touch inputs with minimal menu lag, and the elevated seating position provides outstanding forward visibility. The cabin materials around primary touchpoints reflect Audi's traditional build quality, though I noticed a few harder plastics lingering around the lower door bins and center console that feel slightly out of place in an S-badged model. From a practical standpoint, the cabin layout is easy to live with. Rear passenger legroom and headroom are generous enough for taller adults on extended journeys, and the cargo area offers a flat, usable floor with practical storage compartments. My primary annoyance remains the capacitive buttons on the steering wheel, which occasionally registered accidental brushes during spirited cornering. My verdict is that the SQ6 e-tron genuinely feels like a fresh chapter for the brand. It retains classic Audi refinement and everyday comfort while delivering an agile, sure-footed driving character that sets a compelling benchmark for modern performance crossovers.
