Renault has sharpened the Megane E-Tech with aggressive new styling and welcome technological refinements. It retains its nimble road manners and classy interface, though rear passenger accommodation remains on the tighter side.
The Renault Megane E-Tech has always stood apart with its blend of hatchback agility and crossover stance, but this 2027 facelift noticeably amps up the visual drama. Standing in front of it, I was immediately drawn to the redesigned nose, featuring a sharper lighting signature and cleaner aero elements that give the car a much more assertive road presence than its predecessor. Out on the open road, the driving dynamics remain an absolute highlight. I threw the Megane into a sequence of twisting back roads, and the steering felt wonderfully quick and direct, allowing me to place the front wheels with real confidence. Renault's chassis tuning strikes a fine line: it feels taut and controlled without becoming punishing over broken pavement, making it genuinely fun to hustle around town and through the countryside alike. Inside, the cabin updates center on refining an already impressive layout. I found the Google-based infotainment system to be snappier than ever, with fluid menu transitions and intuitive route planning that makes living with an EV painless. The cabin materials around the driver's seat feel tactile and well-considered, creating an upscale vibe. That said, practicality remains a mixed bag; while the front seats offer great comfort, I noticed that rear legroom and foot space under the front chairs remain somewhat pinched for taller adults. My verdict is that this mid-cycle update does exactly what it needs to do. While it cannot magically expand the rear passenger space, the sharper exterior styling, engaging driving experience, and refined digital cockpit keep the Megane E-Tech firmly in contention as one of the most stylish and enjoyable electric family cars in its class.
